France condemns in the strongest possible terms the attack on the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) in the early hours of October 4. This attack took place in the Ouham-Pendé Prefecture in the northwestern Central African Republic; it took the lives of three Bangladeshi peacekeepers and wounded another.
France extends its condolences to the three deceased soldiers’ loved ones and to the Bangladeshi authorities. We also offer the wounded peacekeeper our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
France commends MINUSCA’s efforts and reaffirms its full support for the Mission. The perpetrators of this attack must be identified and held accountable for their actions.
