Development – Catherine Colonna chairs plenary session of the National Council for Development and International Solidarity (7 December 2022)
Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna is chairing today’s plenary session of the National Council for Development and International Solidarity (CNDSI). The CNDSI is a permanent forum that brings together major stakeholders from development organizations and the government to consult on the goals, directions and means of implementing France’s solidarity-based development policy and combating global inequality.
At the Council’s third plenary session this year, the minister will discuss three topics that have a direct impact on civil society organizations: rebuilding Ukraine, particularly in relation to the international conference on civilian resilience in Ukraine, organized jointly by France and Ukraine and taking place at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs on December 13; the COP27; and challenges in the Sahel.
She will commend the vital work carried out by French, Malian and international NGOs in Mali in recent years and will reiterate France’s commitment to their safety.
Lastly, members of the CNDSI will share their thoughts ahead of the upcoming meeting of the Interministerial International Cooperation and Development Committee (CICID).
