Yemen – Murder of a humanitarian worker from the World Food Programme (WFP) (22 July 2023)

France condemns the murder of a humanitarian worker from the World Food Programme in Yemen. Any attack on humanitarian workers is a violation of international humanitarian law.

France expresses its sincere condolences to the victim’s family and close friends and to the World Food Programme, whose outstanding work in Yemen it welcomes.

It reiterates the obligation to protect humanitarian staff and calls on the Yemeni authorities to shed full light on the crime. There can be no impunity for crimes committed against humanitarian staff.
