Uzbekistan – Conversation between the Minister and his counterpart, Bakhtiyor Saidov (October 23, 2025)
Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot spoke on October 22 with his Uzbek counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov, on the sidelines of the Fourth Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policies that was held by France on October 22 and 23, 2025.
Building on the March 2025 state visit to France by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministers discussed the implementation of priority projects that constitute France and Uzbekistan’s strategic partnership, namely as regards the economy, education and the arts. In particular, the Minister underscored the importance of supporting French-language education.
The two Ministers welcomed the possibilities for strengthening EU-Uzbek relations afforded by the signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. They noted their support for developing connectivity between Europe and Central Asia, especially in the framework of the EU’s Global Gateway strategy.
Lastly, this conversation offered them the chance to talk about regional and international issues of shared interest.
