Ukraine – France condemns further Russian strikes against Ukraine (11 August 2023)

France utterly condemns the latest round of Russian missile strikes which hit Ukraine and civilians, killing a child in the west of the country.

These attacks once again targeted civilian infrastructure, including a residential area, which is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

As Catherine Colonna, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, has repeatedly emphasized, these unacceptable acts constitute war crimes and cannot go unpunished.

In close coordination with its partners, France is committed and will remain committed to bolstering its military support for Ukraine, in particular by strengthening Ukraine’s air defences. France maintains its full support for Ukrainian and international courts in an effort to combat impunity for the crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine.
