Syria – Ceasefire agreement between Syrian authorities and Syrian Democratic Forces (October 8, 2025)

France applauds the comprehensive ceasefire agreement that was concluded between the Syrian authorities and the Syrian Democratic Forces on October 7 in Damascus. This agreement represents considerable progress toward de-escalation and the protection of civilians.

Dialogue must continue on this basis in order to ensure the implementation of every aspect of the March 10, 2025, agreement. This implementation is essential for Syria’s stability. Together with its partners, France remains fully committed to contributing to these efforts.
