Romania – Visit by Clément Beaune (Sept. 14)
Clément Beaune, Minister of State for European Affairs, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will be visiting Romania on September 14.
He will meet with Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu and with his counterpart, Iulia Matei. They will discuss the priorities of the French EU presidency in the first half of 2022, specifically the green and digital transitions, the European Social Agenda, the rule of law and negotiations on the future Pact on Migration and Asylum.
Mr. Beaune will take part in a discussion on the future of Europe at the University of Bucharest with students and civil society representatives as part of the Conference on the Future of Europe launched on May 9 by President Macron.
He will represent France alongside Romanian President Klaus Iohannis at a concert by the Orchestre National de France conducted by Romania’s Cristian Măcelaru as part of the 25th edition of the George Enescu Classical Music Festival, under the joint patronage of the French President on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the composer’s birth.
