Qatar - Visit by Jean-Yves Le Drian (12 September 2021)

M. Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is visiting Qatar today, where he will meet all the Qatari authorities and reiterate to them France’s thanks for their decisive contribution to evacuation operations from Afghanistan, which have already enabled 49 of our compatriots and their dependants to reach Doha, before returning to Paris by chartered flight. He will discuss with them the practical details of organizing new evacuation operations as soon as possible, for the benefit of our compatriots still on the ground and those Afghans especially under threat because of their commitments.

He will talk to his interlocutors about the various dimensions of bilateral cooperation between France and Qatar, as well as the two countries’ joint coordination and mobilization to support regional stability and security, following the Baghdad conference of 28 August 2021.
