Qatar – Israeli strikes against Hamas leaders in Doha (10 September 2025)

France was extremely concerned to learn of the strikes in Doha yesterday, for which Israel has claimed responsibility.

France expresses its wholehearted solidarity with Qatar, a friend engaged with Egypt in a mediation effort essential to securing the release of the hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza. It reaffirms its commitment to respect for the sovereignty of Qatar, its territorial integrity and international law.

France reiterates its unequivocal condemnation of the heinous crimes of Hamas, a terrorist movement that must immediately and unconditionally release the hostages it is holding, and be disarmed and permanently excluded from governance of the Gaza Strip.
