North Korea – Missile launch (18 November 2022)
France condemns in the strongest possible terms the November 18th launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile that landed in Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone, according to Japanese authorities.
This latest violation of UN Security Council resolutions prohibiting North Korea from conducting any type of launch involving ballistic technologies calls for a strong, united response by the international community. France assures Japan and the Republic of Korea of its absolute solidarity in the face of this latest North Korean provocation, which represents a serious threat to regional stability and international security.
France urges North Korea to immediately comply with its obligations and to engage in a process leading to the complete, verifiable, irreversible dismantlement of its nuclear and ballistic programs. We and our partners are fully committed to the goal of ensuring the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions.
