Our bilateral trade with Nepal was estimated at €24.5 million in 2015 (€31.5 million in 2014), with a surplus of €2 million for France (€13.1 million of French exports and €11 million of imports in 2015). French exports are primarily in the fields of publishing and software, as well as aeronautics, while our imports from Nepal are mostly made up of textile products. French investment in Nepal is limited (stock of €800,000 million in 2014) and are concentrated in the hospitality and catering sectors.
The Alliance Française branch is the keystone of our cultural and educational cooperation, with more than 800 French-learners. This cooperation and cultural action provision is topped up by a bilingual French school which has almost 70 pupils in primary and secondary sections.
