Malaysia – Conversation between Jean-Noël Barrot and his Malaysian counterpart (November 7, 2025)

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot spoke with his Malaysian counterpart, Mohamad Hasan, on November 6.

The French Foreign Minister congratulated the Malaysian ASEAN presidency on the Kuala Lumpur summit and on its work to resolve regional crises such as the border dispute between Thailand and Cambodia and the situation in Myanmar. The two Ministers expressed their support for closer ties between Europe and ASEAN.

They also spoke about the positive dynamic in our bilateral relations and the strengthening of economic partnerships in such priority areas as critical minerals and aviation.

Lastly, they discussed the situation in Gaza and the future international stabilization force.
