Today, Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the first plenary session of the France-Kuwait Strategic Dialogue with Majdi Al-Dhafiri, Kuwait’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

This session was part of the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and Kuwait and the 30th anniversary of Operation Daguet, which led to Kuwait’s liberation.

The two parties reviewed activities by various working groups focusing on sectors that are key to our economic, cultural and educational cooperation, as well as cooperation on health, security and French-language learning, and affirmed our commitment to deepening our bilateral partnership.

Mr. Riester and Mr. Al-Dhafiri also reaffirmed both countries’ determination to coordinate closely to promote regional stability and security and support multilateralism, and to work together to confront global challenges, especially in the areas of health and climate change.
