France strongly condemns the strike that hit the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza and wounded seven people. It expresses its full solidarity with Jordan. France also sends its heartfelt sympathy to the wounded and their families, and pays tribute to the essential work carried out by Jordanian healthcare workers in Gaza.
France recalls that international humanitarian law applies to everyone. In particular, this provides for the protection of hospital infrastructure and lays down the clear principles of distinction, necessity, proportionality and precaution at all times and in all places. Healthcare workers and humanitarian workers courageously continuing their work in extremely dangerous conditions must absolutely be protected.
