Iran - Q&A from the press briefing (5 February 2021)

Q : An Iranian diplomat was convicted by a Belgian court on Thursday of planning an attack in France that was allegedly orchestrated and planned by the Iranian government. Do you believe this case is closed, or would you like to see a discussion at the European level aimed at adopting measures to send a signal that such acts must never again take place on European soil?

A : France has taken note of yesterday’s decision by the Belgian court.

The planned attack that gave rise to this court ruling had already elicited a strong response by French authorities on October 2, 2018, and by the EU on January 8, 2019.
