Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna spoke yesterday by telephone with her Indonesian counterpart, Retno Marsudi.
The two ministers expressed their commitment to expanding the strategic partnership between our two countries, especially in the areas of defense and energy, and their wish to work together in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific based on multilateralism and respect for international law. They expressed their wish to swiftly hold an initial joint meeting of our two countries’ foreign and defense ministers.
They also discussed our shared analyses of the situation in Burma and spoke about the war in Ukraine.
