The Minister will visit Finland and Latvia on 28 and 29 September.
In Finland, first of all, Mme Colonna will meet Prime Minister Petteri Orpo for the first time, as well as her counterpart Ms Elina Valtonen, whom she welcomed to Paris in July. The meeting will provide an opportunity to make progress on the strong, stable ties between our two countries. They will discuss the excellent cooperation between France and Finland, and particularly the civil nuclear sector, which will be the focus of the discussions.
In Latvia, the Minister will discuss our continued support for Ukraine, Defence Europe, and obviously the security of NATO’s eastern flank, to which France, as you know, actively contributes. The issue of European Union enlargement will also be a focus of the talks. They will mention the strengthening of the bilateral partnership, particularly with regard to economic and trade cooperation.
