Egypt – Amnesty for Mr Alaa Abdel Fattah (23 September 2025)

France has learned of the decision to grant amnesty to seven Egyptian nationals including Mr Alaa Abdel Fattah, and it welcomes the decision.

The rule of law and respect for human rights and basic freedoms are a priority of France’s foreign policy and a regular subject of the trustful dialogue we maintain with Egypt.
