Clément Beaune, Minister of State for European Affairs, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will be in Prague on June 3 and 4.

He will be hosted by Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and will meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs Jakub Kulhánek and his counterpart, Milena Hrdinková, State Secretary for European Affairs.

These meetings will focus on preparing and coordinating the successive French and Czech presidencies of the Council of the European Union in the first and second halves of 2022. Mr. Beaune will address the challenges of the Conference on the Future of Europe. He will underscore the high quality of our defense relationship and will hail the Czech Republic’s engagement in the Sahel.

During this trip, the Minister will visit the offices of the new European Union Agency for the Space Program (EUSPA), spearheading concrete spaced-based applications such as Galileo and the Copernicus program.

He will also visit Charles University in Prague, where in December 2019 the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs delivered a speech on the legacy of 1989 in Europe, and where he will discuss the future of Europe with students.
