Burundi – Meeting between Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne and Albert Shingiro, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation (28 April 2021)

Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State for Tourism, French Nationals Abroad and Francophonie, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will meet today with Albert Shingiro, Burundi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation.

They will discuss relations between EU Member States and Burundi in light of mutual commitments taken under the joint Burundi-EU Roadmap this month. They will also touch on subjects such as promoting good governance, improving the business climate, and respect for human rights in Burundi, and will address the situation in the Great Lakes region.

Also to be discussed is bilateral cooperation on education and health, thanks to the efforts of the French Development Agency in Burundi.
