Armenia – Visit by Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne (23-24 April 2021)
At President Macron’s request, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State for Tourism, French Nationals Abroad and Francophonie, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is visiting Yerevan from April 23 to 24, where he will take part in the commemorations to mark the 106th anniversary of the Armenian genocide.
In 2019, President Macron added, by decree, the date of April 24 to France’s calendar of commemorative days.
The participation by a member of the government in this commemoration is especially significant because 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of France’s recognition of the genocide.
During this visit, the minister of state will be received for a bilateral meeting with Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, as well as with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
