Laurence Boone, Minister of State for Europe, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will visit Albania and North Macedonia on November 14-16.
This visit comes in the wake of the results France achieved during its EU Council presidency with an eye to starting membership negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia.

The Minister of State will convey a message of friendship and support for the European ambitions of these two nations, underlining the steps to be carried out. She will also broach the subject of collaborative projects that could be developed, including projects within the framework of the European Political Community, to help Albania and North Macedonia reap concrete benefits from the efforts they have made.

In that connection, during her trip to Albania the Minister of State will sign an agreement regarding a French Development Agency project to rebuild the water supply network in the city of Durrës following the 2019 earthquake.
Laurence Boone will meet with the President of North Macedonia, the Albanian and Macedonian Prime Ministers, and several Albanian and Macedonian government ministers as well as parliamentarians from the National European Integration Council in North Macedonia and the European Integration Committee in Albania.

Discussions are also planned with civil society representatives, especially young people, and with think tanks so that we can deepen our dialogue on historical, cultural and societal challenges.
