European Union – Third ministerial meeting with the African Union (21 May 2025)
Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, visited Brussels to take part in the third ministerial meeting between the European Union and the African Union.
In line with the European Union-African Union summit which France organized during the French EU presidency in 2022, the meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the special partnership between the two unions.
We share common interests and priorities with the African States, be it in terms of security, prosperity or the responses to be made to global challenges.
The Minister co-chaired the discussion session devoted to the reform of multilateralism. He recalled that European and African States share a deep commitment to an ambitious, effective and inclusive multilateralism to confront tomorrow’s challenges.
