In case of a change of grade


Status of various categories of foreign mission personnel

This Vade Mecum describes the diplomatic status and the legal situation of all other categories of personnel: consular officers, Embassy administrative and technical staff, consular employees and service staff.

In the event of a change of grade or function within a given status, Protocol Department should be sent, through official channels, the nomination or promotion document, the former residence permit and a passport-size photograph. A new special residence permit is not normally issued when a change of grade takes place in France.
