Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, chaired the National Commission for Decentralized Cooperation on July 4.
This meeting opened the 7th Forum for International Action by Communities.
This annual meeting brings together more than 1,700 locally elected representatives and officials as well as around 30 foreign delegations. It provided an opportunity for communities to exchange views regarding the main aspects of their international cooperation: water and sanitation, climate, waste management, public transportation, administration and governance, education, culture and heritage, tourism, mobility and vocational training for young people.
The 7th edition of this forum also enabled local authorities to prepare for the International Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) (Quito, October 17-20) and COP 22 which is due to open in Morocco in November 2016.
