Humanitarian action – Laurent Fabius’s participation in a working meeting with businesses (Paris, August 27, 2014)

Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, will hold on august 27 a working meeting with around 30 business leaders and several ambassadors aimed at improving the effectiveness, coherence and visibility of France’s response to emergency humanitarian situations.

This meeting will provide an opportunity to strengthen the cooperation established with the private sector. Partnerships have been established over the last few months with companies such as Airbus Helicopters, Veolia and Lafarge, which have recently been able to contribute by providing assistance to Iraqi Kurdistan and by helping the populations affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and the flooding in Bolivia and Serbia.

At the end of this meeting, Laurent Fabius will sign 5 new partnership agreements with Veolia, Nutriset, Lafarge, EDF and Bouygues Construction.
