On February 6, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development is hosting the Journée des Métiers (Career Day). Open to all, this event will offer a broad and dynamic presentation of Foreign Service careers in all their diversity.
Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., more than 4,000 visitors, most of them students and young working people, are expected at the Ministerial Conference Center in Paris’s 15th arrondissement, where they can select their program. The various presentations, which encourage audience participation, include short films, lectures, first-person accounts, workshops, simulated negotiating sessions, job stands, and recruitment areas. Diplomats share their experiences on major topics– among them Ukraine, Syria, Nigeria, and the role of the United Kingdom in the European Union.
Run by more than 250 Ministry volunteers of all levels and from all departments, this event will offer an opportunity for visitors to ask questions and discover the world of diplomacy and its spheres of activity.
