72 French nationals registered. There is no information on the number of Kyrgyz nationals living in France, as the Kyrgyz Republic does not keep records of its citizens living abroad.

Visits

On 10 November 2023, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov met with the President of the French Republic alongside the Paris Peace Forum. President Japarov returned to Paris in July 2024 to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

Cultural, scientific and technical cooperation

Founded in March 1993, the Alliance Française in Bishkek is the French agency responsible for cultural and linguistic outreach in Kyrgyzstan. Since 2012, Bishkek has also been the regional headquarters of the IFEAC, the French Institute for Central Asian Studies, which conducts research and exchanges on humanities and social sciences with the region. Bishkek was also one of the cities set out in the Treaty of Aachen on Franco-German Cooperation in January 2019 to host a Franco-German cultural institute, a project which is currently underway (ICFA Bishkek).
