France hails the results of the work carried by the 35th session of the Human Rights Council, which met in Geneva from June 6 to 23. We notably introduced the resolution to renew the mandate of the special rapporteur for extreme poverty and human rights for another three years.
France hails the adoption of resolutions on the human rights situation in Syria, Belarus, and Eritrea, as well as cooperation with Ukraine on human rights. We welcome the president’s statement on the human rights situation in Côte d’Ivoire. We and our EU partners are mobilizing our efforts to adopt a resolution by consensus allowing a team of international experts to be sent to investigate human rights violations in the Kasai, in cooperation with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
We also hail the adoption of resolutions on discrimination, violence against women and forced or early marriages, young people, and human rights, as well as the renewal of the mandates of special rapporteurs on summary, arbitrary or extrajudicial executions, human trafficking, and the independence of judges and attorneys.
