France welcomes the appointment by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres of Hans Grundberg as Special Envoy for Yemen. It congratulates Hans Grundberg and assures him of its full support in carrying out his important mission.

France pays tribute to the work of his predecessor, Martin Griffiths, and his efforts in support of the political process.

France reaffirms its commitment to an immediate cessation of hostilities in Yemen, while the country is facing an especially serious humanitarian crisis, and calls for the resumption of discussions aimed at reaching a comprehensive and inclusive political agreement under the auspices of the UN.
