Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, will travel to Nouvelle-Aquitaine on March 16; the visit will focus on the promotion of tourism.
At the invitation of the president of the region, Alain Rousset, Matthias Fekl will launch the regional plan for the development of the tourism and leisure industry.
The goal is to define the regional tourism strategy, through a regional as well as economic approach, and to ensure consistency and efficiency, in collaboration with the stakeholders and professionals in the region.
This evening in Bordeaux, in the presence of the mayor, Alain Juppé, Matthias Fekl will inaugurate La Cité du Vin’s first major temporary exhibition. The goal of this exhibition, which will showcase around a hundred works, is to highlight the key role played by cafés and bistros in artistic creation and society from the end of the 18th century to the present day.
Nouvelle-Aquitaine is one of the most popular tourist destinations in France, with more than 27 million visitors every year.
