Tourism – Second meeting of the emergency economic committee on tourism (Paris, September 13, 2016)

Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, will bring together some 50 tourism professionals and partners on September 13 at the Quai d’Orsay for the second meeting of the emergency economic committee on tourism.

On the basis of feedback from tourism professionals, this meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss private and public mechanisms to promote France’s appeal to tourists, especially in the Île-de-France and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur regions which have been particularly affected by the drop in the number of international visitors.

The emergency economic committee on tourism is part of the momentum generated by the plan to relaunch the “Destination France” initiative announced in March, which had been initially allocated funding of €1 million. Jean-Marc Ayrault announced on August 23 that an additional €500,000 would be devoted to this initiative.
