Tourism – Local authorities – Meeting between Matthias Fekl and regional and departmental elected officials (Paris, October 19, 2016)

Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism, and French Nationals Abroad, received, on October 19, together with Martine Pinville, Minister of State for Commerce, Small-Scale Industry, Consumer Affairs and the Social and Solidarity Economy, the elected officials responsible for tourism and the representatives of the areas most affected by the recent events.

This meeting builds on the emergency economic committee on tourism which Jean-Marc Ayrault convened on September 13.

It also follows on from the report issued at the Council of Ministers meeting on October 19 on the number of tourists visiting France.

The discussions focused on the main areas of cooperation between the government and the regions, as well as on the priority projects to be implemented thanks to the €10 million in exceptional funding announced by Jean-Marc Ayrault aimed at promoting France as a tourist destination around the world.
