Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, will this afternoon chair a meeting of the Tourism Promotion Council devoted to the French overseas territories and river and sea cruises, in the presence of George Pau-Langevin, Minister for Overseas France and Alain Vidalie, Minister of State for Transport.
Two reports on cruise tourism and the French overseas territories will be presented at the meeting. The rapporteurs note that these segments of the tourism industry have not yet found the strategic place they deserve in terms of the attractiveness of France.
A series of measures to be adopted will be presented at the end of this meeting. An initial progress report on these measures will be provided at the first national tourism conference at the Quai d’Orsay on October 8.
