Tourism – Foreign trade – Visit to the Pyrénées-Atlantiques by Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne (August 21, 2017)

Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, minister of state attached to the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, is visiting the Pyrénées-Atlantiques today, where he will meet with locals involved with the “Biarritz/Pays-Basque” brand promoted abroad by Atout France, the French tourism agency.

During his visit, he will discuss upcoming stages in the implementation of decisions by the Interministerial Tourism Board on July 26 and will receive an initial review of the summer season in the region.

Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne will visit Espelette, an excellent example of a location boasting a PDO (protected designation of origin) product. He will have a working lunch in Biarritz with elected officials and locals involved in the hospitality and development sectors. Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne will also travel to Ayherre-Hassparen to visit a site run by LAUAK; this aircraft producer is in the process of diversifying, and has customers abroad. This visit will highlight the importance of SMEs and medium-sized companies to the competitiveness of French aviation, the top sector in terms of generating a foreign trade surplus.
