On the initiative of President Macron, a conference on combating the financing of Daesh and Al Qaeda - “No Money for Terror” - is taking place from April 25 to 26 in Paris.

Jean-Yves Le Drian is leading a round table today during which he will invite his interlocutors to provide an update on the situation and propose concrete solutions. Other members of the government involved in the fight against terrorism and its financing (Gérard Collomb, Minister of the Interior, Nicole Belloubet, Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice, Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy and Finance and Gérald Darmanin, Minister for Government Action and Public Accounts) will take part in this event, which will be closed by President Macron.

The representatives of 70 states and leaders of almost 20 international and regional organizations and specialized agencies will take part in the conference. A final declaration will be adopted at the end of the conference.

This ministerial meeting was preceded on April 25 by a day of discussions among experts in combating terrorism financing (judges, financial intelligence units, intelligence services, criminal police, customs and financial regulation experts).

The military victory in Iraq and Syria does not mean that Daesh has been completely eliminated. Groups linked to Al Qaeda remain active the Sahel, the Arabian Peninsula and Asia. We must continue our efforts until they have been completely dismantled. In this context, and for the first time on this scale, the conference in Paris will bring together finance, interior, justice and foreign affairs ministers, all of whom are engaged in the fight against terrorism.
