Cybersecurity – Attacks against private and public actors (15 May 2017)

France utterly condemns the cyberattacks of unprecedented scope that have been affecting numerous private and public actors - including several French companies - in more than 150 countries since May 12.

In addition to their impact on the economy, these attacks can, depending on the intended target, pose a threat to national security and to fundamental freedoms.

The protection of government networks, as well as business networks, is a priority.

France is fully committed to establishing effective international cooperation to combat cybercrime and to prevent and facilitate the handling of these attacks.
