Chemical weapons – Increase in the budget of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (19-20.11.18)
France welcomes the decision taken on 20 November by the Conference of the States Parties to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to increase the OPCW budget.
This 2.4% budget increase will allow the OPCW to increase its ability to identify those who use chemical weapons and thus respond to the re-emergence of chemical weapons use in the world, especially in Syria, Malaysia and on United Kingdom territory.
The decision endorses a commitment made in June by the countries in the International Partnership against Impunity for the Use of Chemical Weapons, an initiative launched by France.
