Created in 2019, the Simone Veil Prize of the French Republic is awarded each year, under the aegis of the President of the French Republic, to mark the celebrations on 8 March, to a person or group who works to further gender equality and to improve the situation for women and girls around the world.

Komal Narayan is committed to addressing the climate emergency, both in Fiji and on the international stage. She took part in COP23 in Germany in 2017 and the Youth Climate Summit at United Nations Headquarters in New York in 2019. With 500 young people from around the world, she joined this global platform of campaigners who want to open dialogue with leaders on climate issues. She attended COP25, held in Spain from 2 to 13 December 2019.

The Pacific Island Representative for the Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA), a major international community of leaders on the preservation of oceans, she is also an Executive Member of the Alliance for Future Generations - Fiji, a network of young people committed to sustainable development.

Komal Narayan, who conducts projects to train Fijian women in the climate, maritime and agricultural fields, visited France on 23 and 24 January 2023, where she built partnerships with the aim of realizing these projects.
