On the occasion of World Refugee Day, France reaffirms its commitment alongside the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Sixty-five years after it was created, this institution, whose outstanding work France commends, is more essential than ever in order to help and protect these persons.
The number of uprooted persons has never been so high. There are currently more than 60 million refugees, displaced persons, stateless persons and asylum seekers. World Refugee Day provides an opportunity to offer them hope for a better life and to mobilize the international community to help them.
