Human rights – Youth – Health - Jean-Marc Ayrault’s meeting with participants in the “LabCitoyen” program (July 4, 2016)

Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, received the 50 participants in the 2016 edition of the “LabCitoyen” program organized by the Institut français.

Every year in Paris, the “LabCitoyen” program brings together young foreign French speakers aged 20 to 26 from all over the world in order to promote the French language and human rights. The 2016 edition was marked by the launch of a network of “young ambassadors for human rights of the French Republic,” who will continue to work together once they return to their countries of origin.

This year’s theme was “Health and human rights.” Our country is the second largest contributor to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and is fully mobilized to ensure in particular that everyone has access to medical care. We work closely with the World Health Organization and call on the international community as a whole to demonstrate solidarity.
