Human rights - World Day Against Child Labor (June 12, 2016)

On the occasion of World Day Against Child Labor, France reaffirms its commitment, notably within the International Labor Organization, to combating this scourge.

The international community’s resolute action has made it possible to reduce the number of children concerned by one third since 2000, but 168 million children are still affected, including 85 million involved in hazardous labor.

France calls on all states to ratify and implement the International Convention on the Rights of the Child in order to ensure that their rights are respected, especially the right to education.
