Freedom of the press - International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists (November 2, 2015)

On the occasion of International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, we pay tribute to the memory of Ghislaine Dupont and Claude Verlon, our compatriots who were murdered in Mali while reporting for Radio France Internationale.

Too many journalists all over the world continue to pay for their commitment to the freedom of the press with their lives.

France reaffirms its commitment to the freedom of the press. We pay tribute to all those who uphold the freedom of the press – from the Charlie Hebdo journalists murdered on January 7 to Faisal Arefin Dipan, who was killed on October 31 in Bangladesh for editing blogger and author, Avijit Roy, who was also murdered.
