International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (May 17, 2015)

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia which is celebrated every year on May 17, France reaffirms that the rights of every person, regardless of their sexual orientation or their gender identity, must be respected.

In international forums, France supports the universal decriminalization of homosexuality. It lends its support in the field to those who are fighting against discrimination and violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) persons and is committed to protecting and promoting their rights.
