French Schools Abroad Week 2021: French education for tomorrow’s world

With 543 schools and 375,000 pupils from kindergarten to secondary school in 2021, in 138 countries, France has the widest network of schools abroad of any country. Across all continents, French families (one third of overall pupils) and those of many other nationalities (two thirds) choose French schools for their strengths, including inclusiveness for all pupils, gender equality, excellent quality, wellbeing, critical thinking, solidarity, multilingualism and openness to the world.

Every year since 2017, French Schools Abroad Week has shed light on the benefits of French education for pupils and the diverse initiatives of the network’s schools.

Art, science and sustainable development: French education for tomorrow’s world

The fifth edition of French Schools Abroad Week is being held from 29 November to 4 December 2021 on the following theme: “Art, science and sustainable development: French education for tomorrow’s world”.

It is an opportunity for teachers and pupils to focus on the activities and schemes available in schools and classes, including through artistic and scientific projects.

There are many subjects for discussion and work, including citizenship, sustainable and environmentally friendly initiatives, gender equality, health and wellbeing. These subjects can be developed in relation to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
