Jean-Marie Le Guen, Minister of State for Development and Francophonie, delivered a speech on March 31 during the public presentation of the assessment of France’s contribution to the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) for the period 2010-2015.
This assessment was initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the Ministry of Urban Affairs, Youth and Sport, as well as OIF representatives.
This is the first assessment carried out by independent consultants.
This assessment highlights the consistency between OIF interventions and France’s external policy priorities. It suggests that the level of France’s contribution to the OIF is justified, while identifying areas for improvement with respect to monitoring, the definition of strategic priorities and visibility. The French authorities, in collaboration with all stakeholders concerned, will focus on implementing these recommendations in order to improve the performance of France’s contribution to the OIF.
