Nathalie Loiseau, Minister for European Affairs, will meet with Corina Cretu, European Commissioner for Regional Policy, today in Paris.

She will discuss with the commissioner the EU’s cohesion policy within the framework of the next Multiannual Financial Framework for the post-2020 period, regarding which the Commission’s proposal is expected to be presented in May 2018.

The minister will reaffirm France’s attachment to this historic policy, which provides a positive link between the EU and European citizens. She will underscore that this policy must be simplified and made more coherent, which notably requires making its resources conditional on greater fiscal and social convergence as well respect for the rule of law.
