Laurent Fabius will participate in the informal meeting of the EU foreign ministers (“Gymnich”), which is due to take place on September 4 and 5.
The agenda will cover the following points:
- the Middle East peace process: the ministers will discuss the situation on the ground and how the international community might be able to support the resumption of dialogue;
- Russia/ Ukraine: the discussions will focus on the situation in eastern Ukraine and the EU’s role, as well as developments in the relations between the EU and Russia;
- migration: the ministers will take stock of the latest developments in the migration crisis, notably in the Balkans. They will prepare for the summit in Valletta on migration, which will notably include our African partners (November 11 to 12, 2015);
Iran: relations between the EU and Iran will be discussed.
