Laurent Fabius will participate in the Foreign Affairs Council which will take place in Brussels on July 20 under the chairmanship of Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The ministers will address the following issues:
- Iran: The ministers will take stock of the agreement reached between the E3+3 and Iran on July 14 in Vienna as well as its implementation;
- Libya: Bernardino Leon, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, will present the Skhirat agreement. The discussions will focus in particular on the possible role of the EU in supporting the political process;
- Tunisia: The ministers will reflect on how the EU can provide assistance to Tunisia, in terms of economic initiatives as well as the fight against terrorism. A working lunch attended by Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid and Minister of Foreign Affairs Taieb Baccouche is planned;
- Middle East peace process: The ministers will discuss ways to relaunch the Middle East peace process and the situation on the ground.
