Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, will participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels on March 16. The work will focus on the following points:
- Africa: The ministers will discuss the strengthening of relations between the EU and Africa in the areas of security, trade and the fight against climate disruption;
- Libya: An update will be provided on EU support for UN action, while Mr. Bernardino León is continuing his consultations with the Libyan parties;
- Eastern Partnership: The ministers will prepare for the summit in Riga on May 21 and 22;
- Migration: EU action in response to the increase in illegal migration in the Mediterranean Sea is scheduled to be discussed.
Following this meeting, Laurent Fabius will attend a working dinner with his German, British and Iranian counterparts as well as with Ms. Federica Mogherini in order to discuss the Iranian nuclear issue.
